With an impending photoshoot I was keen to have a good pamper and ensure I was looking my best from my head to toe.
One forgotten area tends to be the heels. While I paint my toenails and spend ages choosing a shade of red I neglect the bottom of my feet which have taken quiet a battering with all the walking and gym sessions lately.
Footner advertise their exfoliating product as providing ‘baby-soft feet’. I cannot say my feet are rough or callous but they were in need of some TLC. I had noticed that my heels had some hard skin and yellowing. The kind that a pumice stone would not remove alone.
The socks are more like foot shaped bags. Its an odd concept and when I first put them on, I shivered with the cold but soon got used to them. The process is simple.
‘Slip the plastic Footner Exfoliating Socks over your feet and use the adhesive strap (sticker near the front of the sock) to close the top of the Footner Exfoliating Sock. Slip your own socks over the Footner Exfoliating Socks for a comfortable fit.’
Once my own cotton socks were safely covering the plastic socks I felt they were secure and I could go about my business. For best results I recommend you have a rest and read a book.
The socks stay on for 60 minutes and then you remove and wash with warm water. 1-7 days later, as if by magic, your skin begins to shed.
Depending on the severity of your hard skin and your lifestyle the skin can shed sooner or later. Whichever the case expect to see peeling in 14 days and whatever you do don’t forcefully remove the peeling skin.
I have pretty thin skin on my feet, I found they began to peel in 2-3 days and the skin came away easily. I avoided applying moisturiser until all the dead skin had come away. Depending on your lifestyle the process can be repeated in as little as a month. As I am not constantly on my feet and they can feel a little sensitive afterwards I have chosen to do the prices once every 3 months.
My only words of caution on this brilliant product are;
it feels super cold and tingly on your feet, although in the summer I imagine this will be welcomed.
If you have cracked heels it can irritate so be careful with use
You must keep feet out of direct sunlight/ refrain from sunbeds as your soles will be sensitive, therefore be careful in flipflop weather and pre-holiday
The benefits are that it is quick, easy and hardly any effort compared to pumice stones and scrubbing. For those that struggle to reach their feet or suffer backpain it is a great solution and providing you leave the dead skin to fall away, the process is safe.

For just £19.99, four times a year, I love these new exfoliating socks, I might even do some more steps just to get the hard skin back to exfoliate!
