Pure Potions is a brand based on being natural!
I have to admit, I tend to go for products based on performance and if they contain chemicals it doesn’t usually deter me if the results are good. With Pure Potions I have been not just pleasantly surprised but also converted! Natural products can be as good if not better than those packed full of un-pronounceable chemicals.
Pure Potions make skin, hair and body items as close to their natural state as possible and where they can product ingredients are 100% organic and locally sourced. Every ingredient is listed and only included if it has a beneficial quality.
As a newbie to the brand I opted for the trail pack to begin. The Skin Salvation Sample Pack contains 5ml samples of the brands three core products, all of which are free from synthetic chemicals, parabens and perfumes, dramatically reducing the risk of skin reaction or flare-up.
First of all, I love the little pots, they are perfect tester size! So much better than the usual tester pouches for products, these are easy and useful. I love the idea of using this pack for when I am travelling or on the move. It is the perfect size. Secondly, I love the smell! Pure Potions do not use synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals or colours in any of our products. I didn’t realise that natural ingredients could smell so divine!
My kit included:
Skin Salvation Intensive Moisturising Ointment:
This is a think, oil-based ointment for intensive daily hydration. It contains hemp, olive and safflower, rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, and makes a beeswax type texture that slides on the skin really nicely.
Skin Salvation Daily Moisturising Cream:
This is a lighter day cream for regular use and contains chamomile, nettle, chickweed and calendula but in a silky-smooth, vegan-friendly shea butter base.
Free from parabens, petro-chemicals and perfumes.
Skin Salvation Intensive Hand Cream:
Another more intensive cream this contains shea butter and hemp seed. Plus, it can be used on skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, issues I suffer with on my hands and joints.
In addition to the hand and body range I also tried some hair care items. I opted for the natural shampoo a mild blend of nettle, calendula, chamomile and chickweed, honeysuckle, sweet basil, clove and lemongrass - which give the shampoo its sweet, citrus scent.
I love a deep clean of my hair. I like to think I am a pro’ at hair washing after years of salon experience at the sinks. This shampoo did not disappoint. My hair felt incredibly clean without drying and it did not fade or strip my colour.
The shampoo is made from only the mildest plant-based biodegradable cleansers; these gently lift dirt and grease from the hair, without stripping the natural oils.
I followed with Purepotions Natural Conditioner which has a mask like consistency. When applied to the hair allow a moment for it to absorb and comb through. The rinse with warm water. Not only did my hair smell amazing it felt totally nourished without being weighed down or greasy.
You can even use these products on your furry friends! Yes, your pets!
